Janet McLellan, Project Assistant &
Office Manager
Janet is keen to assure people that one does not have to have inside knowledge of computers
and how they work in order to enjoy the experience and use them to best advantage. Computers
are the means to find out more about family history, or to write a newsletter or to keep in
touch with friends and family who are far away. The possibilities are endless. She enjoys
encouraging those who are unsure about using computers to explore for themselves. She worked
in a busy office for a number of years, but also has experience in other fields such as tourism,
adult learning and third world projects.

Pete Andrew, Project Assistant
Pete is really enjoying working with the wide variety of people involved with Buckfastleigh
Broadband. He has spent his previous lives at college in Gloucester studying Photography;
in London working for several photographers; on a narrow boat in and around London trying
to avoid the British Waterways police (he never did pay for that mooring
); and briefly
in India, enjoying what one does when in such places. Other interests include playing and
designing board games, and golf when weather and family permit. He moved to Devon about 12
years ago, but is a member of a Pub Quiz team called "The Blow-Ins", so isn't yet
sure if he is really a proper local!

Tim Stacey, Project Assistant
Tim's background is in the automotive design industry, specialising in using finite element
analysis, computer aided design and 3d modelling programs. His familiarity with computers
stretches back some 20 years to a time when 5 1/4" floppy disks and paper ticker tape
drives were the latest thing! He sees himself as an enthusiastic user, although from time
to time has dabbled a little in programming. His goal for the future is to expand his knowledge
of computer video editing and production, combine his computer design skills and artistic
abilities to generate web based streaming videos for the general market as demand expands
with the increase in broadband availability.

Yvonne Bent, Project & Business Programmes Assistant
Yvonne is the youngest member of the team, yet has a natural affinity with computers and technology.
She is very much a 'people person' and is always on hand if there is a problem to be solved.
She is self-trained in the majority of popular software programmes, her strength in desktop
publishing packages. She also has an extensive knowledge of the Internet, being able to find
almost anything you could ask for. Her age is a particular advantage as she brings forth the
viewpoint of the younger generation's needs, wants and aspirations in relation to modern technology
and the future.
